The Philadelphia Eagles held a ring ceremony last Thursday to celebrate winning Super Bowl LII. Most of the players from the 2017 team were there to receive their extravagant championship rings.

A week after the ceremony, the Eagles presented former longtime long snapper Jon Dorenbos with a ring, even though he wasn't on the team during the regular season.

"I was here a long time, so it's really cool that they did this. I am honored to say that the Eagles have given me a Super Bowl ring."

Having spent 11 seasons in Philadelphia, Dorenbos was one of the longest-tenured players on the team entering training camp in 2017. The Eagles then traded Dorenbos to the Saints, but he was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm, which required immediate surgery.

Dorenbos was in the locker room at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota after the Eagles defeated the Patriots to capture the franchise's first Super Bowl victory. Team owner Jeffrey Lurie promised Dorenbos a ring that day, and he followed through with his commitment.
