Alex Ovechkin was evaluated for a concussion after a brutal collision with teammate T.J. Oshie on Wednesday night.

Ovechkin and Oshie ran into each other by the red line in the first period of Washington’s game at Toronto. While Oshie popped right back up after the collision, Ovechkin remained down and seemed to take the worst end of things.

Ovechkin was pulled off the ice by the concussion spotters and taken into the locker room for evaluation. He was later cleared for a return and came back to score a tie-breaking goal in the second period.

The goal helped Ovechkin tie Sergei Fedorov for the most points in NHL history by a Russian player.
