Your email inbox likely sees a daily deluge of promotional emails from all sorts of travel and lifestyle brands. The sometimes sensationalized language in the subject lines is often irritating enough to make you close your browser.

The promotional emails you should always click on, however, are ones sent by your favorite hotel loyalty programs. Though sometimes lackluster, promotions sent by major hotel chains can yield a significant uptick in rewards you earn on paid stays.

Even if you don’t foresee yourself staying at these hotels during the promotional period, it’s a good idea to enroll anyway. You never know what unexpected event will put you at the doorstep of a hotel.

These hotels perpetually offer promotions to incentivize you to stay (though the best promos are sometimes targeted toward members who stay the least). Promotions often take the form of bonus points, free night certificates and extra elite night credits.

Let’s take a quick look at the current hotel promotions and how to enroll in them. Keep in mind that you’ll have to register before your stay to benefit from these offers, so it’s beneficial to check before you check in to your next hotel.

Enrolling in IHG Rewards promotions

Between Feb. 1 and March 31, you can earn 2 times the number of base points on stays with IHG. Most brands offer 10 base points per dollar, while Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites earn just 5 base points per dollar. So, you’ll earn between 10 and 20 points per dollar with this promotion.

To enroll in IHG promotions, head to the IHG website and log in to your account. Then, navigate to the hotel’s official offers page by clicking the “Offers” button at the top of the page.

You’ll receive 2 times the elite night credits during the promo period. That makes it much easier to earn Marriott elite status. For example, you’ll normally achieve Platinum status after staying 50 nights per year. Through May 4, you can achieve it with just 25 nights if you’re starting from scratch, or as few as 10 nights if you have both a Marriott business and personal cobranded credit card.

You can enroll in Marriott promotions by going to Marriott’s website, signing in and heading to the Promotions Central page. Do this by clicking on your name at the upper right-hand corner of the screen and then selecting the “Promotions” button.
