Oh boy have we been talking about the new TWA Hotel at New York City's JFK Airport for a long time, starting all the way back in 2015, in fact. We got a preview of the 512 rooms—with their terrazzo-tiled bathrooms, double-decker mini bars, retro-fitted rotary phones, and seven-pane thick windows overlooking the active runway—last April. And now, we're all one step closer to actually spending the night inside the famed Eero Saarinen-designed, 1962-built, former TWA terminal: rooms officially go on sale February 14, starting at $249 per night, and the hotel officially opens in May, Curbed reports.

We're expecting those first few months of rooms to sell out quickly, but even if you can't stay the night, you can still stop by for peek on a long layover at JFK or before a flight. The hotel's rooftop observation deck (complete with a bar) should be reason to visit alone, since you'll be able to watch flights take off and land on JFK’s busy runways. There will also be a "museum devoted to the Jet Age, TWA, and the midcentury modern design movement" inside. Plus, the hotel boasts six restaurants, including the Paris Café by Michelin-starred Jean-Georges, and eight bars, including the rooftop spot, an Intelligentsia Coffee bar, and another inside a restored Lockheed Super Constellation aircraft on the hotel's tarmac.

The May opening will be a "soft opening," however, with its blow-out debut (and likely the delayed opening of a few of those restaurants and bars) coming later in the fall, the hotel's developers MCR told USA Today. But if you're an aviation die-hard—or a neo-futuristic architecture buff—you'll want to be the first in on this.
