The Eiffel Tower Is Now Home to an Urban Winery

An urban winery recently opened inside the Eiffel Tower, producing wine about 190 feet up. La Winerie Parisienne is the first urban winery to open in Paris in over four decades. They currently source grapes from other parts of France. But their sights are set on producing a wine in the Ile-de-France, which includes the populous region of Paris. La Winerie Parisienne's Eiffel Tower winery was completed on October 4. And grapes trucked in from Yvelines made the trip up to the second floor of the tower on October 7. The operation consists of a couple of stainless steel fermenters, a grape sorting belt, and eight oak barrels. And a Merlot wine should debut next year. The facility is open to the public every day from 9am to 11pm.
