And if we're being completely honest, it should have been on my bucket list all these years as well. I'm sure you can see why it is now... Just yesterday, Prince William and Kate Middleton made their way to Cumbria, England to meet with local heroes, volunteers, and those supporting the rural community in the area after a weekend spent at Buckingham Palace for Trooping the Colour.

According to the @kensingtonroyal Instagram, Cumbria thrives on tourism as its key to their economy, with millions of visitors from around the world every year. Among Cumbria's highlights are Lake District-which was "inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2017"-Windermere Lake (England's largest), and Scafell Pike (England's highest mountain).

With such highlights, it's no wonder Kate used to visit Cumbria on family vacation as a child. Travel & Leisure reported that the Lake District, in particular, was a happy vacation spot for the Duchess and her fam growing up. And if we're being completely honest, it should have been on my bucket list all these years as well. Thankfully, it is now.

A quick Google search gave me all the reasons why I should add it to my ongoing travel destination list and if these pictures don't convince you to book your trip there too...well, whatever.

Lake District National Park offers all of the beautiful adventures an outdoorsy person could want on a scenic trip across England. Among the top things to do, you could boat or hike around Windermere, Ullswater, or Derwentwater lakes, hike up Scafell Pike (and camp there), and visit Beatrix Potter's 17th-century cottage at National Trust Hill Top.
