8-Year-Old Boy Missing for Over a Week Found Alive in Drainage Canal

More than a week after going missing, an 8-year-old boy was found in a sewer near his home in northwest Germany. The exhaustive search that started for Joe was made more difficult by the 8-year-old’s mental differences. Police said in a statement it was possible Joe saw “the search for him as a game.” A person taking a morning walk reported hearing noises under the roadway. Emergency services lifted the manhole cover, and saw Joe about 6 feet down.
