Teen drama “Pretty Little Liars,” entering its seventh and final season next year, is getting a life beyond TV with the launch on Pocket Gem’s Episode, an interactive app that puts users in the center of the story.

Episode’s “Pretty Little Liars” will let fans follow their favorite characters from the show, with a brand-new storyline set during season one of the show. In the app, the story returns to Rosewood with all the key characters — Aria, Hanna, Spencer, Emily and the mysterious “A” — with new twists and turns. The choices users make affect how the plot unfolds.

Pocket Gem’s “PLL” story on Episode was developed through a partnership with Warner Horizon Television and the show’s creative team, and licensed via Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Episode earlier this summer launched a “Mean Girls” story on the app in partnership with Paramount Pictures, and has also launched stories with singer-actress Demi Lovato.

The final season of “Pretty Little Liars” is set to premiere on Freeform on April 18, 2017. The show’s exec producers are showrunner Marlene King, Charlie Craig, Oliver Goldstick, Leslie Morgenstein and Joseph Dougherty. The series stars Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Tyler Blackburn, Lucy Hale, Ian Harding, Shay Mitchell, Andrea Parker, Janel Parrish and Sasha Pieterse. “Pretty Little Liars” is based on the series of books by Sara Shepard and was developed for television by King. It’s produced by Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television.

Pocket Gems launched Episode in 2014, and users have viewed over 2.25 billion episodes to date across 37,000 stories. The app also lets users create their own interactive stories, with about 4 million creators on the platform. San Francisco-based Pocket Gems has raised $65 million in funding from China’s Tencent and Sequoia Capital.

The Episode app is available on Apple’s App Store for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and on Google Play for Android devices.
