CBS has good news for fans of "The Mentalist," but that's about it for now.

The network chopped five one-and-done shows on Saturday: "Intelligence," "Bad Teacher," "Crazy Ones," "Friends with Better Lives," and "Hostages."

"Intelligence" starred Josh Holloway ("Lost") as a high-tech intelligence operative who is enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain.

"Bad Teacher" only managed a handful of episodes to air by the time it was canceled. The TV adaptation of the 2011 movie debuted to decent ratings, but quickly dropped off.

Plus: What shows have been renewed?

"The Crazy Ones," starring Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar had the most promise with a high-profile launch last fall and chock full of A-list talent and guest stars. The comedy got OK ratings for the network, but it was not the breakout hit that CBS had hoped for.

"Friends With Better Lives" is also a recent debut that hadn't caught on. It had a good start, premiering after the "How I Met Your Mother" series finale, but that first episode was the clear bright spot in the show's young career.

"Hostages" followed Dr. Ellen Sanders (Toni Collette), a premiere surgeon, is thrust into a chilling political conspiracy when her family is taken hostage by rogue FBI Agent Duncan Carlisle (Dylan McDermott).

Earlier this week, CBS ordered "NCIS: New Orleans," "The Odd Couple," "Madam Secretary," "CSI: Cyber," "Stalker" and "Scorpion." "Battle Creek" was previously ordered to series. TheWrap learned that "How I Met Your Dad" was ordered to series as well, though the network has officially denied that to be the case to this point.
