Celebrity Reality Shows -- The Good, the Bad and the Wished For

Slide 1 of 19

By Bret Federigan Special to MSN TVMany can endlessly argue whether "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" made celebrities out of one of pop culture's most (in)famous blended families or simply showcased a clan that was already in the limelight. But there's little doubt that the E! network's flagship reality series resonates with viewers eager to get an inside look at the (arguably totally unimprovised) domestic dramas of Hollywood's elite. Kim Kardashian and the rest of her family have used the show to sustain their celebrity status by consciously choosing to open up their private lives to the public. From Khloe's shotgun wedding to Lamar Odom to the birth of Kourtney's baby boy, fans of the show had plenty to follow this past season. And let's not forget the spinoff "Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami." The Kardashians, like so many before them, know that viewers will gladly take a glimpse into the world of the rich and famous so long as there are celebrities willing to share their business in front of the cameras. "Keeping Up with Kardashians" is just one of the most prominent examples in a long line of celebrity reality shows, and it certainly won't be the last. With the series set to return for Season 5 on Sunday, August 22, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on E!, we take a look at some of the most memorable celebrity reality shows of the past few years, some of the worst of the genre and a few of the many celebrities we'd like to see take a stab at their own series. Here now, a rundown of the good, the bad, and the wished for.
