The sixth season of the series. which follows the Robertsons as they juggle their family life and successful duck-call business, will find family patriarch Phil Robertson increasingly entangled  in his never-ending battle with the beavers on his land. Willie, meanwhile, tries to keep everything afloat while managing brother Jase's deadpan humor alongside Uncle Si's backwoods philosophies. Outside of the family business, Miss Kay decides she has time to take up coupon-cutting while the whole family gathers around to cheer on Reed as he graduates from high school.

The series premiere will also feature an appearance from Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who announces that he will visit the family's Duck Commander business to present Willie with a Commerce Award.

A substantial success for the network, "Duck Dynasty" took a ratings hit with its most recent season, which wrapped in March. Though the season averaged 10.5 million total viewers with Live + 7 Day numbers taken into account, the series finale drew 6 million total viewers — a considerable drop from the 8.4 million total viewers that the Season 4 finale drew.

The fifth season aired following a controversy for the show, when family patriarch Phil Robertson made anti-gay comments in an interview with "GQ." The elder Robertson was briefly suspended from the series, but was quickly reinstated following public protest.
