For the Love of Spidey

Slide 1 of 7

Now that we have a new Spider-Man, it's time to find him a girlfriendBy Kurt Geltz Parallel UniverseWith Andrew Garfield in place as Spider-Man, producers of the new Marvel movie featuring the superhero are now focusing on finding the right girl for Peter Parker to pine after. It was recently revealed on the Heat Vision blog that they've narrowed the search down to five actresses, but apparently none of them will be playing Spider-Man's longtime love, Mary Jane Watson, who was played by Kirsten Dunst in the first three flicks. Word on the street is that director Marc Webb is looking to create a new love interest for his planned reboot of the wall-crawler franchise. Some fans have begun speculating that the gal in question might be Gwen Stacy, another of Spidey's girlfriends from the comics, who was played by Bryce Dallas Howard in "Spider-Man 3." Other fans are wondering if they may be looking to bring in Black Cat, a former burglar turned superheroine who's been known to get intimate with Spider-Man. Whatever the plans, Webb and his producers have big shoes to fill following Sam Raimi, Tobey Maguire and Dunst. So, let's see who they think would be the perfect love match for the "friendly, neighborhood Spider-Man." ('Spider-Man'/Sony)
