The best and worst of Tim BurtonBy Frank PaivaSpecial to MSN MoviesIt takes a long time to make a movie. In the case of "Frankenweenie," it takes a very, very long time.Back in 1984, Tim Burton was an animator turned director working for the Disney Channel in its early days. One of his first projects was "Frankenweenie," a 30-minute live-action short about a boy who reanimates his dead dog. The film starred Shelley Duvall, Daniel Stern and a very young Sofia Coppola. Disney fired Burton for wasting money on a project that was too scary for children. After the director's string of successes in the late '80s, the studio finally released it on video in 1994. Oh, what a difference a decade makes. Bing: More about Tim BurtonWhich is your favorite Tim Burton movie?
