Forget dragons and white walkers. For his next TV gig, Games of Thrones alum Richard Madden will find himself in a world full of another unique breed: mutant telepaths.

The actor will appear in a standalone episode of Amazon’s upcoming sci-fi anthology series

Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams.

The installment, titled “The Hood Maker,” is set in a world without advanced technology. As such, mutant telepaths are humanity’s only mechanism for long distance communication. But when the public begins to embrace mysterious, telepath-blocking hoods, two detectives with an entangled past are brought in to investigate.

Madden will play Agent Ross. Joining him in the episode — penned by Life on Mars co-creator Matthew Graham — are Holliday Grainger (The Borgias) and Anneika Rose (the UK’s Line of Duty).

As previously reported, the other hours will feature guest appearances from Anna Paquin (True Blood), Terrence Howard (Empire), Mireille Enos (The Catch), Greg Kinnear (Rake), Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire) and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad); Cranston also serves as an executive producer.

The 10-episode series is inspired by Dick’s shorts stories, which have been adapted for the Amazon anthology by writers Ronald D. Moore (Outlander, Battlestar Galactica), Michael Dinner (Justified), Tony Grisoni (The Young Pope, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas), Jack Thorne (Skins, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), David Farr (The Night Manager), Dee Rees (Bessie) and Travis Beacham (Pacific Rim).
