Based on A. Scott Berg's award-winning biography "Max Perkins: Editor of Genius," the film recounts the real-life relationship between literary giant Thomas Wolfe (Law) and renowned editor Max Perkins (Firth), who developed a tender, complex friendship that changed both of their lives forever.

The film is being co-financed by Silver Reel with FilmNation Entertainment handling all international sales and CAA handling the domestic sale.

Pre-production will commence in August, and shooting will start on Oct. 13 in the U.K and U.S.

"We are thrilled to have assembled such an extraordinary team around us as we move forward with this project, and we can't wait to begin filming," Grandage and producer James Bierman said in a joint statement.

Law, who currently stars opposite Demian Bichir in "Dom Hemingway," recently appeared in Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and will soon be seen alongside Melissa McCarthy in Paul Feig's comedy "Spy."
