Kathleen Turner recalls plane horror with Michael Douglas

6/17/2014

Actress Kathleen Turner feared she and Michael Douglas would die in a plane crash during a terrifying landing in Morocco. The Hollywood stars were in the country shooting scenes for their 1985 action comedy The Jewel of the Nile when they took a hair-raising flight into the city of Fez. The pilot almost missed the runway on landing and Turner was convinced she and her Oscar-winning co-star were about to perish. Asked to name the scariest moment of her life, she tells British newspaper The Guardian, "In a plane with Michael Douglas in Morocco. We were coming back from a shoot while filming The Jewel of the Nile. As we flew into Fez, they shut off the landing lights and the plane almost overshot the runway. It was very scary."
