Although if there's a timeless constant, it's that most series worth their marketing blitz find their way if given time and room to find themselves. Take "The Neighbors," ABC's surprise favorite about a blue-collar New Jersey couple who've moved on up to a townhouse development entirely populated by aliens named after famous athletes. That seemingly limited premise offered more laughs per 22 minutes than just about any currently airing sitcom, and that was before it hit a second gear as TV's most good-natured Hollywood satire.
