Michael Jace Arrested, Charged With Wife's Murder (Report)

Michael Jace, who was detained by Los Angeles police in connection with the shooting death of his wife on Monday night, has been booked on homicide charges, TMZ reports.

The actor, best known for his work as an LAPD officer on the drama "The Shield," reportedly called that same department and admitted to shooting his wife, April Jace, who was found dead at around 8:30 p.m. in a residence in the 5400 block of Brynhurst Avenue.

TMZ also reported that the couple's two young children were present and witnessed the shooting. April Jace, 40, was shot several times in the torso.

Michael Jace, 48, has spent much of his career acting in cop shows, having gotten his start on a 1992 episode of "Law and Order" and then a 1994 episode of "LA Law."
