Fans of "Breaking Bad" who are hotly anticipating the arrival of its spinoff, "Better Call Saul," got their first big casting news this week. Veteran comedic actor Michael McKean has been cast in Vince Gilligan's upcoming prequel.

McKean will be playing a new character known only as Dr. Thurber. McKean will join Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks, who played Mike Ehrmantraut in "Breaking Bad," as the three confirmed cast members thus far.

McKean has worked with Odenkirk once before, guest starring in an episode of "Mr. Show." He also has appeared in all of Christopher Guest's movies, including "This Is Spinal Tap" as David St. Hubbins.

"Better Call Saul" focuses on lecherous lawyer Saul Goodman, who became a fan favorite as the guy who was tasked with covering all of Walter White's tracks throughout "Breaking Bad." His catchphrase, "Better call Saul," became one of the most memorable parts of the entire series.
