By Entertainment Tonight Slide 1 of 6

Former NFL pro and new "Live!" co-host Michael Strahan admits that he came close to getting the gap in his teeth closed up. So, what changed his mind?"I was at the dentist having him do mock-ups. I thought about it, man. … I was in my twenties," he confessed to ELLE magazine. "I was playing with the Giants. There's so much pressure to be perfect. You can fix anything now. For me, I made the conscious effort to say, 'This is who I am.' I'm not perfect. I don't want to be perfect. At this point, I don't think my kids would recognize me without it."RELATED:Regis' Advice for StrahanThe family man, 41, also opened up about the advice he gives to his daughters when it comes to boys: "Stay away! You don't have to settle."Strahan is currently engaged to Nicole Murphy, ex-wife of comedian Eddie Murphy. RELATED:Strahan Makes His 'Live' Debut!"I can be myself.
