Motorhead legend Lemmy on the road to recovery

6/17/2014

Veteran rocker Lemmy is on the road to recovery after a bout of ill health, according to his Motorhead bandmate Mikkey Dee. The heavy metal band postponed a European tour last summer (13) after the frontman underwent heart surgery, and they put plans for a February (14) return to the stage on hold again as the singer was still not well enough to play. However, drummer Dee reveals his bandmate is steadily recovering and demonstrated his improving health during a three-week tour of America in April (14) and May (14). Dee tells Kaaos TV, "It's (Lemmy's health) much, much better. He's been good for a while. He's working hard on his health. We just did three weeks in the U.S. He's up and about. It's more to get going again. It's for the whole band. We've never been off eight months. But Lemmy's much better, and he played great when we did this U.S. leg, so I really hope that he can stay healthy. And he looks good, so that's all I can say. And he's working very, very hard on it, too, so all the best." Motorhead are scheduled to kick off their postponed European tour in Italy in June (14).
