For all you fans of Leslie Knope, Ron Swanson, Tom Haverford and all the other colorful characters on NBC's acclaimed sitcom Parks and Recreation, you better savor this seventh season, because it will be the show's last.

NBC announced on Saturday that the Amy Poehler-led comedy will end after its upcoming seventh season.

The show follows the day-to-day trials and tribulations of a small town's Parks department, led by the brilliant and insanely ambitious Leslie Knope, played by Poehler. It also stars Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Adam Scott, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Retta, and Jim O'Heir. Until midway through this previous season it also starred Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones. Both Lowe and Jones left to work on other television ventures.

Parks is also currently NBC's longest-running show. However, the writers have said that they knew the end was near for some time, which is why the sixth season of the series jumped ahead several years, in order to tie up loose ends and move some of the show's relationships into new territories.

It hasn't been announced how many episodes of the final season NBC will order, or exactly when the new season will premiere, however it has been moved to the midseason lineup.
