Patrick Wilson, Jessica Biel, Imogen Poots to Star in Psychological Thriller

Patrick Wilson, Jessica Biel, Imogen Poots and Toby Jones are set to star in director Andy Goddard's untitled adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's novel "The Blunderer."

Killer Films' Christine Vachon and David Hinojosa, along with Ted Hope and Sierra Pictures will produce the psychological thriller. Sierra Pictures will finance the film which was optioned and adapted by Susan Boyd from Patricia Highsmith's novel The Blunderer published in 1954. The executive producers are Sierra/Affinity's Nick Meyer, Marc Schaberg and Kelly McCormick. Sierra/Affinity will handle international sales of the project making it available to buyers for the first time at this year's Cannes Film Festival.  CAA is overseeing the sale of the project domestically. The film is slated to begin production later this year.

The novel The Blunderer was written by Highsmith in between Strangers on a Train and The Talented Mr Ripley. Set against a backdrop of early 1960s New York, Walter Stackhouse (Wilson) is a successful architect married to the beautiful Clara (Biel) and leading a charmed and perfect life. But his fascination with an unsolved murder leads him into a spiral of chaos as he is forced to play cat-and-mouse with a clever killer (Jones) and an over-ambitious detective. Walter's obsession, his lies and his lust for another woman (Poots) will collide in a crush of guilt, innocence and, ultimately, fate.

Wilson is a Golden Globe®, Emmy® and Tony® nominee who was most recently seen in THE CONJhrefNG as well as INSIDIOUS and INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2.  His other credits include LITTLE CHILDREN, ANGELS IN AMERICA, PROMETHEUS, THE A-TEAM, WATCHMEN, and LAKEVIEW TERRACE.

Biel also was seen in THE A-TEAM with Wilson and has also appeared in HITCHCOCK, TOTAL RECALL, THE ILLUSIONIST, NEW YEAR'S EVE and VALENTINE'S DAY

Poots was seen in the recent releases of NEED FOR SPEED, THAT AWKWARD MOMENT, A LONG WAY DOWN and FILTH.

Jones' recent film credits include CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and his role as Claudius Templesmith in THE HUNGER GAMES franchise.

Goddard, who recently wrote and directed SET FIRE TO THE STARS starring Elijah Wood, worked as one of the primary directors of "Downtown Abbey" over the past two seasons.
