Rene Russo, Jake Gyllenhaal Thriller 'Nightcrawlers' Picked Up by Open Road Films

Open Road Films has scooped up the domestic distribution rights to the upcoming film "Nightcrawlers" starring Rene Russo and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Gyllenhaal plays a driven L.A. freelance crime journalist in the movie which also co-stars Bill Paxton and Riz Ahmed.

The film marks the directorial debut of Dan Gilroy, who is married to Russo.

The film was financed by Bold Films. Gilroy, Gyllenhaal and Jennifer Fox are producing with Bold Films' Chairman Michel Litvak and David Lancaster.
