Renee Kurtz Exits CAA for Principato-Young Entertainment

Veteran lit agent Renee Kurtz is exiting CAA to become a manager at Principato-Young Entertainment.

Kurtz has been with CAA since 2009. She’s the longtime rep for Paul Feig, Miles Millar and Al Gough, Charles Eglee and Jeremy Podeswa, among other hyphenates.

At Principato-Young, Kurtz will help expand the company’s roster of TV-focused lit clients and help shepherd its growing TV production activities. The company’s expanding roster of TV shows includes as ABC’s “Black-ish,” Netflix’s “Wet Hot American Summer” and “Flaked” and Comedy Central’s “Key & Peele.”

Principato-Young at present has about 19 managers spread among Los Angeles, New York and Chicago.

Before CAA, Kurtz spent nearly 14 years at WMA. She was previously a development exec at ABC.

Kurtz’s departure comes amid an end-of-year shuffle among CAA’s middle ranks. A number of established agents have departed the agency in recent weeks, including Sean Grumman, who moved to WME; Kim Hodgert and Kami Putnam-Heist, who segued to Anonymous Content; and Spencer Baumgarten, who shifted to ICM Partners.
