Shows to avoid

Slide 1 of 12

These series may prove themselves as time goes on, but we're not optimistic By Robert Isenberg Special to MSN TVThis fall season is overflowing with new shows -- particularly scripted dramas and comedies -- and you never know which one will be a runaway hit. Some lucky pilot may astonish critics and sweep the Emmys. Viewers may flock to this masterpiece in droves, new stars will be minted and TV history will change forever, thanks to a surprising new series. But some shows will fail. They will disappoint. We will wish we skipped them from the minute we started watching them. Nobody knows what the future holds, but not every new series shows promise. Some of them look like old ideas warmed over, or good ideas that don't leave many options. If you don't have much time to watch TV this fall, these are the shows we'd recommend skipping. Oh, they may surprise us. They may prove themselves as time goes on. (We kinda hope they do). But we're not optimistic.
