Stars Who Work With Their Exes

By Jessica Wedemeyer Slide 1 of 11

It's happened to all of us: You're grabbing a bite to eat, running a quick errand, or maybe just enjoying a workout. Everything is great. Then suddenly, you turn a corner, and BOOM! There's your ex. While most of us only have to worry about running into our former paramours on rare, awkward, cringe-inducing occasions, others are less fortunate. Take, for example, "Dexter" co-stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter, who've been working together on the show since their 2010 divorce. As luck would have it, working with their exes has happened to lots of other stars as well! Take a look at other celebrity exes who maintained their working relationship after their romantic one fizzled.RELATED:2012 Emmy Awards' Hottest CouplesMichael C. Hall and Jennifer CarpenterThe on-screen siblings were first spotted getting cozy off set in April 2008. Less than a year later, on New Year's Eve 2009, they wed in an outdoor ceremony in Big Sur. But their union was even more short-lived than Dexter's love interests on the hit Showtime series. After leaning on each other during Michael's battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma in early 2010, the duo filed for divorce on Dec. 2, 2010. Rumors abounded alleging Michael had cheated -- specifically with "Dexter" season-five costar Julia Stiles. But Julia vehemently denied the rumors, and Michael and Jennifer have remained friends. Almost two years after their split, they were photographed watching the sunset together in Venice Beach, Calif., and they frequently attend events, like the 2012 SAG Awards, in a group with their families.
