'Superbad' Stills

Slide 1 of 19

'Superbad' (2007)The first great Goin' All The Way flick of the 21st century came by way of the Judd Apatow Comedy Factory, resulting in the best entry in the genre since the heyday of films like "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." "Superbad" was certainly much better than "American Pie" (1999), which revived the genre nearly a decade earlier, or Richard Linklater's "Dazed and Confused" (1993), which got the drugs and rock-n-roll part correct but totally missed out on the sex. The script by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg -- originally written when they were both 13 -- is a seemingly endless stream of profanity that crosses over into the realm of being almost poetic. Christopher Mintz-Plasse steals the movie as the nerdy Fogell, who is reborn as the legend-in-his-own-time McLovin.
