Apparently, Taylor Swift would rather not practice her particular brand of country-pop in the midst of political chaos.

The "I Knew You Were Trouble" chanteuse has canceled an upcoming concert in Bangkok, following a coup d'etat that brought Thailand under military rule.

Concert promoter BEC-Tero announced the cancellation of the concert, which had been scheduled for June 9, saying that it was "a difficult decision for all parties."

BEC-Tero attributed the cancellation to "recent events in Thailand," without making reference to the coup.

"Taylor, AEG, BEC-Tero and 13 Management all express regret and sincere apologies to the fans in Thailand," the company said, adding, "We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding."

Swift reacted to the cancellation on her Twitter account late Monday, saying she was "so sad" about the decision.

"I'm sending my love to the fans in Thailand. I'm so sad about the concert being canceled," the singer wrote.

Ticket holders will be able to refund their tickets starting Thursday and through Monday.
