The-Dream’s ‘IV Play’ Gets New Release Date, Cover Art

Billboard -- The-Dream’s “IV Play” is taking its time getting to a release date.

The singer-songwriter’s next album has been pushed back to May 28, three weeks after its previously announced date, May 7. The album, The-Dream’s fifth counting “1977” (originally released under his real name, Terius Nash), is due on Def Jam/Radio Killa Records.

Its simple album art, released on Wednesday, features two separate inverted black-and-white images of the number 4.

The R&B star recently released the single “Slow It Down,” featuring Brooklyn MC Fabolous earlier this month. The song’s video premieres April 2 on both VEVO and BET’s “106 & Park.”

The-Dream also released the single “Tron” earlier this month, though he tweeted that the song will not have a place on the album.

Backstage at the Grammys in February, The-Dream revealed he’d be heading to Paris to work on Kanye West’s follow-up to “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.” The in-demand songwriter has also been at work on material for Beyonce and Mariah Carey—making for a hectic schedule that seems to have contributed to his own effort’s release delays.
