The Expendables Smackdown

Slide 1 of 13

Who would win in a fight to the death among action's biggest stars?By Frank Paiva Special to MSN MoviesGeeks love to argue about things that don't matter. Is Roger Moore or Sean Connery the definitive James Bond? Should Bella choose Edward or Jacob? How can Krusty the Clown read The Daily Racing Form if he's supposed to be illiterate? These are debate worthy questions to be sure, but they aren't nearly as fun as a game of who would win?. For example, who would win in a fight between Superman and Spider-Man? Spider-Man might be able to spin a web strong enough to capture Superman midflight, but the Man of Steel should be sufficiently brawny to eventually break free. Peter Parker could use his science smarts to artificially manufacture Kryptonite, but would he be fast enough to inflict the element on his rival? Clark Kent could use The Daily Planet to badmouth Spider-Man in the press and encourage a public uprising, but would that make his secret identity obvious? Add a bag of Doritos and a case of beer and you can see how this game could go on forever. This week marks the opening of "The Expendables," an action flick with pretty much every macho tough guy who's graced the silver screen in the past twenty years. The film is directed and co-written by Sylvester Stallone, who also stars. Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Jet Li, and Arnold Schwarzenegger appear as well. Given the once in a lifetime combination of today's greatest tough guys in a single film, we thought this would be the perfect chance to play a massive game of who would win? Here are the stars of "The Expendables" in their most hard-hitting roles, ranked from first one out to last man standing in a geeky, fictional smackdown. Let the battle begin.
