The Shortlist for April 11

Duchess Kate beats Prince William in sailing raceMuch as we love to see Duchess Kate win when it comes to style, it's a wee bit more gratifying to see her finish in first place in an actual race. The royal couple split up for a sailing race aboard two Emirates Team New Zealand Americas Cup yachts on Friday, with Kate steering alongside Team New Zealand skipper Dean Barker and Prince William getting some support at the helm from Team New Zealand manager Grant Dalton. And let's just say there's a reason Kate is grinning in the photo at left, while William is sporting what we can only call a look of confusion."William was a bit nervous at the start,” a source who accompanied the prince on the excursion later told E! News. "These boats are very powerful and he just wanted to get on the grinder to begin with. When we wiped out because of the problem with the sail we were near to some rocks and William said, 'That'll be a good photo.' William was a good sailor but Kate pushed us around into a bad position. She did very well. William was very competitive right from the start — he didn't want to lose. When Kate won both the races he just said, 'At least she'll be happy.'"After disembarking, William quipped, "We were sabotaged," and joked that he was just being a "selfless husband” in an effort to have a "a quiet night."Apparently, even royal grapes can sour.
