Amanda Bynes misses mandatory court appearanceFreshly rehabbed Amanda Bynes apparently made the judge in her bong-throwing case pretty unhappy on Thursday when she failed to appear at a mandatory court date, according to the Daily News. Asked if the defendant was "still in the hospital," Bynes' lawyer said his client was unable to attend the hearing. Although no reason was apparently given, the Assistant District Attorney prosecuting the case did not ask for a bench warrant. The judge did, however, note that if Bynes doesn't appear at the next mandatory court date on January, a warrant will be issued. The troubled actress, who was spotted taking a walk with her parents on Thursday near their Los Angeles home, faces charges of reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and marijuana possession in connection with an incident in which New York police claim she threw a bong out the window of her 36th floor apartment. The 27-year-old former child star has been in various treatment centers since July, when she was put on an involuntary psychiatric hold after allegedly starting a small fire in someone's driveway. The incident came on the heels of a DUI and a series of lesser traffic citations.
