Jay Z's Barneys clothing collection earns $1M for charity: ReportAfter just six weeks on the shelves in New York, Jay Z's clothing collection has raised more than $1 million for his Shawn Carter Foundation, which helps pay for underprivileged teens' college costs. The official numbers have not yet come in, but the Daily News reports that as of Friday, the line had generated seven digits worth of cash for the charity, thanks to Jay's commitment to earmarking 100 percent of the collection's profits for use by the foundation. Recent allegations of racial profiling at Barneys' flagship store in Manhattan sparked protest against the line last fall, with Jay Z fans demanding that he pull the collection. Barneys sold the clothing and luxury items as planned, however. The store also promised 10 percent of storewide profits to the foundation.RELATED: Fashion don'ts
