Katy Perry wants to become an art collectorHave all those bubblegum candy confection-themed set pieces finally taken their toll on Katy Perry's maturing artistic eye? Chatting with E! News at MOCA's 35th Anniversary Gala Presented by Louis Vuitton, the newly single singer declared, "I'm going to slowly become an art collector." And it seems she's already begun the process. "Today, we had an all-day art crawl. We got to see some private collections from some people's homes and then we went to a couple of galleries," she said, noting that the pieces she viewed included the works of Pablo Picasso, James Turell, Roy Lichtenstein and Jeff Koons. But don't discount the giant, frosting-artillery cupcakes just yet. "What I'm really drawn to," she added, "is modern contemporary art and pop art, of course. Also some key photography. I've always loved Cindy Sherman and today I got interested in Lee Friedlander …This is all brand new. I'm really interested in having an art history education."
