Kenny Chesney reflects on life changing experienceJust before he hit it big, country superstar Kenny Chesney became tight with a crew of like-minded, "free spirits" in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where he used to go for the occasional breather as his career was taking off. During that time, he became close friends with Kristi Hansen -- then suddenly last year, he lost her to a brain aneurysm. "Sometimes things happen that just stop you in your tracks, and they change you. And that's what's happened to me. I'm a different person now," Chesney tells People, looking back on how he dealt with the experience. Hansen was just 35 at the time -- and pregnant with her first child. "You realize it could all end in a second," he explains. "And if it all went away just like that, did I do everything I wanted to do, did I say everything I wanted to say?"
