The Shortlist for Sept. 26

Slide 1 of 6

Jamie Foxx, the 'Twilight' team and more celebs raise money for college scholarshipsWith the University of California suffering from major state budget cuts, the school system has enlisted some help from Hollywood in raising money to cover scholarships for students in need. The campaign, Promise for Education, involves asking famous folks to make promises -- and keep them once a certain dollar amount has been raised online. So far, the plan is working: According to a press release from the organization, within 24 hours of Jamie Foxx promising "to record a song of him rapping as Bill Clinton, President Obama and Monique from 'Precious' if he raises $20,000,” fans donated more than $10,000 to the cause.Other promises include "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke's offer to give the highest bidder the shirt Kristen Stewart wore during her first kiss scene with Rob Pattinson, and Wilmer Valderrama's promise to "let his fans decide what his promise will be if he raises $10,000." Head over to promiseforeducation.org to see what Gabrielle Union, Mike Love from the Beach Boys and other celebs are promising in return for a donation to higher education.
