Slide 1 of 2

With Justin Bieber zooming his Ferrari headlong into disaster and Amanda Bynes channeling Britney Spears circa 2007, what better time to highlight some stars who are trying to make a positive impact on the world. Let's kick things off with Tom Hardy, who recently fulfilled the dream of one cancer-fighting fan. Earlier this year, Kayleigh Duff appeared on a British talk show to discuss her battle with a rare and aggressive form of liver cancer (her father succumbed to the same disease). During the sit-down, she mentioned that meeting the "The Dark Knight Rises" actor was a major item on her wish list.Turns out the sister of Hardy's fiancée, actress Charlotte Riley, caught the program, and soon a surprise date was arranged with the help of Duff's friend, Katie Birch. "I nearly died when I saw him. I was shaking," Kayleigh tells the Canterbury Times. "I just thought we were having a day out in London. Tom's fiancée Charlotte and Katie arranged it all without me knowing, and he was so lovely and down to earth."Adds Duff, who's the mom of a 2-year-old, "We had lunch and tea and scones, and he bought me a diamond necklace."Keep clicking for another story of a celebrity doing good …
