Tulisa Contostavlos' assault trial delayed

6/17/2014

British pop star Tulisa Contostavlos has to wait until July (14) for a verdict in her assault case after judges demanded more evidence from witnesses. The singer is accused of attacking celebrity writer Vas Morgan at the V Festival in Essex, England in August last year (13) after months of ill feeling between them. She allegedly lashed out and punched Morgan in the face during a bust-up in front of shocked onlookers including rapper Wretch 32, leaving the shaken blogger with a swollen, puffy left eye. The former N-Dubz star denies assault and insists Morgan's allegation is part of a long-running vendetta against her, and on Friday (23May14), officials at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court in Essex, England adjourned the case for more evidence to be gathered. Judge Angus Hamilton told the court, "I am anxious this does not go on any longer than necessary." Contostavlos denies assault, and her close friend Gareth Varey denies a charge of harassment. They are due back in court on 2 July (14).
