TV News Roundup: ‘Ouija’ Actress Joins ABC’s ‘Raised By Wolves’ Pilot

In today’s TV News Roundup, Lulu Wilson has been cast in ABC’s “Raised By Wolves” pilot, plus premiere dates have been set for John Ridley’s LA riots documentary on ABC and HBO’s Bernie Madoff film “The Wizard of Lies.”

CASTING

Young actress Lulu Wilson has been cast in ABC’s “Raised By Wolves” pilot, Variety has learned exclusively.

The “Ouija” thesp will play Yoko Gable, a gentle, wide-eyed 11-year-old who wants to save the world. The character is the on-screen daughter of Georgina King, who was cast as the lead in the comedy that centers on a single parent and one tough mother with her dad and five offbeat kids, as they try to survive on a shoestring budget in the Midwest.

Aside from the horror movie “Ouija: Origin of Evil,” Wilson’s credits include the films “Deliver Us From Evil” and the upcoming “Annabelle 2,” plus guest roles on “Inside Amy Schumer” and “Teachers.” She was a series regular on the CBS comedy “The Millers.”

DATES

ABC has set a premiere date for John Ridley‘s historical documentary on racial tensions in Los Angeles during the 1980s and early ’90s — “Let It Fall: Los Angeles 1982-1992” will debut on April 28. The “12 Years a Slave” director partnered with ABC’s Lincoln Square Productions on the project, which is pegged to the 25th anniversary of the Rodney King riots, tracing the timeline of events leading up to the verdict announcement on April 29, 1992.

HBO has set a premiere date for the Bernie Madoff film “Wizard of Lies,” starring Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer. The film, examining Madoff’s Ponzi scheme, will debut May 20 at 8 p.m. on the premium channel. Also starring Alessandro Nivola, Nathan Darrow, Kristen Connolly, Lily Rabe and Hank Azaria, “Wizard of Lies” will provide a cinematic narrative of Madoff’s deception, lies and cover-up as his family has to uncomfortably deal with fallout. De Niro executive produces along with Jane Rosenthal, Berry Welsh, and Tom Fontana and director Barry Levinson. Jason Sosnoff co-executive produces.
