TV Upfronts: NBC, Fox, CBS Begin Making Ad Sales

With the networks' upfront presentations to advertisers behind them, CBS, NBC and Fox have all begun lining up advertising sales, multiple individuals with knowledge of the negotiations told TheWrap on Wednesday.

NBC, which entered the upfronts as the top-rated network in the advertiser coveted 18-49 demographic, has also begun making sales. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, the network is enjoying increased prices and interest. The individual said that advertisers seem interested in buying advertising on NBC while the network is on the rise.

Fox, whose entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly announced his imminent departure from the network shortly after upfronts, has started to pick up advertising sales. The network is experiencing lower increases in CPM — the cost of reaching 1,000 viewers — than last year, when it sought increases of 5 to 7 percent. However, no specific number ranges have been provided yet.

CBS has likewise begun "writing business," though no specifics are yet available.
