Alec Baldwin has been the American president, and now he’ll head up the CIA.

The ubiquitous actor will guest-star in Hulu’s upcoming 9/11 drama The Looming Tower as the agency’s former director of central intelligence, George Tenet.

Based on Lawrence Wright’s Pulitzer Prize-winning exposé, the 10-episode series chronicles the rising threat of Osama Bin Laden and al-Qaeda, and how the rivalry between the CIA and FBI may have set the stage for the 9/11 attacks.

Ready for more of today’s newsy nuggets? Well…

* Designated Survivor has tapped Keith Eisner (The Good Wife) to serve as showrunner for a potential Season 2, our sister site Deadline reports. Eisner would be the ABC drama’s fourth showrunner, following Amy B. Harris, Jon Harmon Feldman and Jeff Melvoin.

* Anna Paquin (True Blood) and Terrence Howard (Empire) will appear in a standalone episode of Amazon’s upcoming anthology series Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, per Deadline. Paquin will play a policewoman who shares headspace with a brilliant game designer (Howard).
