Snakes on a Dame: If Carrie Underwood's recent red-carpet choices are any indication, she might have been just as happy waving through tears to the strains of, "There she is, Miss America ..." as she was belting out country numbers on "American Idol." The winsome if verging-on-twiggy chart-topper is just an Aquanet-teased bouffant and a cry for world peace away from taking the crown in a pair of weapons-grade frilly frocks. On the left, she steps out for the "Enchanted" premiere in a cotton candy pink Southern belle petticoat that she's cleverly converted into a dress. Alas, the froufrou flower bursting "Alien"-like out of her chest sends this number back to the Junior Miss circuit. Flora is also Carrie's undoing at the American Music Awards as she's strangled by covered in toilet paper petals, a garden theme she takes too far with snaking, serpent-tie sandals that, despite her pageant-ready perkiness, fail to charm.
