6-Foot Shark Rescued From Crab Trap by Florida Sheriff’s Deputies
One of the ocean’s scariest predators had to be rescued. Marine Unit deputies from Florida’s Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office say they were contacted by a concerned citizen about a shark being caught in a crab trap. There was a hook in the shark’s mouth, but the officers “determined they could not safely remove the hook.” The net was cut as low as possible, allowing the approximately 6-foot shark to swim free.
