Firefighters rescue stranded cat from flooding

A water rescue team in Salem, Oregon, rescued a cat who was stranded in the high flood waters brought on by the heavy rain in the area on April 12. The Salem Fire Department shared footage of the rescue on their Facebook page. The cat is seen on top of a wooden post as one of the firefighters approaches and the cat jumps into the water. The firefighter grabs the cat, who puts up a struggle, and manages to get the cat into a rescue boat where another man wraps the cat in a jacket. Captain Andrew Grimmer told local media that the cat was released to higher ground and ran away immediately following its rescue. Credit: Salem Fire Department via Storyful
