Will these $1200 a -month bunk beds solve San Fran’s housing crisis?

A co-living space renting out “pods” to live in is making a splash in San Francisco as a novel way of dealing with expensive housing. One bunk bed – or “pod” - will set you back US$1200 (€1064). Basic food items like cereal and ramen, as well as toiletries such as toothpaste and toilet paper, are included in the deal. There is no deposit and no need for documentation such as payslips, making the arrangement ideal for young people or newly-arrived migrants. One pod is 50 square feet (4.6 metres) and can be rented per night, per week or per month.
