German language war drama "All Quiet on the Western Front" is coming in as a surprise Oscar front-runner with nine nominations. Other best picture nominees include blockbusters "Top Gun: Maverick" and "Avatar: The Way of Water," which reportedly cost a whopping $460 million to make. It's also the first time two sequels have ever been nominated for best picture.
