Elizabeth Warren : Classic Takedown of Geithner Over TARP Bailout (from 2009) - MUST SEE !!!

From September 10, 2009. Elizabeth Warren, Chairman of The Congressional Oversight Committee on The TARP Bailout Questions Sec. of The Treasury, Tim Geithner. The Congressional Oversight Panel (COP) received an update on the status of the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) funds from Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner. It was his second appearance before the panel since it being formed the previous year. The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (EESA) authorized the creation of the Congressional Oversight Panel to oversee the TARP funds. Geithner in his testimony said recovery is still far from over but that improved conditions in the banking industry have prompted the Treasury Department to begin winding down emergency support programs. He added later, "I would not want anyone to be left with the impression that we're not still facing really substantial enormous challenges throughout the U.S. financial system."
