‘Toxic police culture’ causes ‘avoidable deaths,’ retired NYPD detective says
Tyre Nichols was beaten by five former police officers who have been charged with second-degree murder. “This kind of police interaction that leads to avoidable or unnecessary fatalities is much less about color or complexion and much more a result of … the toxicity that exists in modern-day policing,” retired NYPD detective and Director of the Black Law Enforcement Alliance Memphis Marq Claxton said.
