Uvalde elementary schoolers kept calling 911 for help as police were instructed to not engage

Anger grows among the Uvalde community over how school police handled the response during the gunman’s horrific acts inside Robb elementary. Sources say federal agents waited 30 minutes before overruling School District Police Chief Peter Arredondo’s guidance to not engage with the gunman and opened the classroom using a janitor’s key to kill the gunman. During that 47-minute window between authorities entering the classroom, authorities say 911 calls from students kept coming in.
